In the recent discovery of motor neuron diseases, scientists were able to convert cells isolated from skin, into neuronal cells without compromising their stemness . These promising findings are helpful in understanding some of the internal mechanism, that may have direct as well as indirect impact on ALS . So far, scientists could discover that stem cells play a major role in neuronal differentiation, which are being damaged in ALS . However, lot of questions still need to be answered regarding internal molecular pathways, that are forcing these differentiations to take place . Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis , or ALS is a deadly neurodegenerative condition, associated with massively damaged motor neurons . Due to this damage, signaling cascade providing information from central nervous system to muscles is being halted; leading to the neuromuscular damage .
