Another issue that researchers face in this research is the difference in development of brain in humans and animals. This ultimately makes it difficult to test and study disorders related to the development of brain, as results attained from tests on animals might not give same result for humans.

This can put forward neuroregeneration and neuroprotection with less risk of side effects and rejection as well. Stem Cell Therapy research have used umbilical cord cells, induced pluripotent cells, mesenchymal cells, and even neural cells to achieve a safe and effective treatment option for cerebral palsy.

Many treatments are in the experimental phase only, but many tests and clinical trials have shown improvement in symptoms. The trials that are underway now are broken in different phases so that side effects can be minimized. Safety of the therapies is tested in early phases of the trails whereas effectiveness is tested in later phases.
